Welcome to the Write Side of the Road. My hope is that you grab a cup of coffee, or tea, and find a moment in your busy day to relax and be entertained by whatever stories, essays, and art make their way to the pages before you.

Halfway through my life, I am finally finding the time to do what I’ve always dreamed of…write novels. After relocating from West Coast to East, the isolation opened up my imagination, and an idea for the first novel that I sat on for twenty years finally came spilling out. And while I have dreams of being a published novelist, I am also a realist, and am learning that it is a long road to get there. So in the meantime, I write, and read, and polish my craft, and write some more.

I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and Christian. I don’t know how I ended up in a family of nerds (and I mean that most affectionately), but I’m quite sure that God has a sense of humor and is laughing at my expense. And I’m okay with that.

I think our paths are not straight for a reason, and I think that everyone has obstacles to get through, including myself. My hope is that my readers will connect with my stories, and walk with me on the Write Side of the Road.

  1. Lisa, I love meeting another writer who started “later” in life. I began writing in my mid-forties. It’s quite a ride, isn’t it? I also enjoy reading a bit about you, your family, and God’s sense of humor. I’ve definitely seen this in my life too. With my boys. And my mishaps. 🙂
